The Friends of Chippewa Park is a Not-For-Profit organization, founded in 2002, whose aim is to restore Chippewa Park to its full potential.  TFOCP have raised and invested over $10 million and counting, to preserve the Park's rich history, renovate & improve the physical grounds & structures, and enhance its natural beauty for all to enjoy.  With a dedicated membership of neighbours, friends, and caring citizens, TFOCP work to re-establish Chippewa Park as a destination of choice and a recreational haven.  TFOCP is a very active organization that has made great strides in Chippewa’s restoration and continues to work hard planning for Chippewa’s future.  Their mission statement is "To provide public amenities and to preserve, protect and promote the public park known as Chippewa Park located in and owned by the City of Thunder Bay with the intention that the park reaches its full potential as a public recreation area to the full benefit of the community."

 CLEAN GREEN AND BEAUTIFUL AWARD

*In September 2008, the City of Thunder Bay initiated the Clean, Green & Beautiful Awards to recognize building and renovation projects that enrich the life of the community through public art, beautification, heritage and environmental greening.

On Monday September 29th The Friends of Chippewa Park were presented with the Clean Green and Beautiful Award.  The award was accepted by Pat Carli (Board Member) on behalf of The Friends of Chippewa Park.*
