3rd Annual Exciting En Plein Air Workshop
Be Inspired at Beautiful Chippewa Park
Enjoy the wonderful experience of painting outdoors in the stunning natural setting of Chippewa Park in Thunder Bay.
Join experienced watercolour artist and instructor Bilijana Baker for a unique plein air workshop designed to help artists embrace the landscape through the medium of watercolour painting.
Biljana will guide participants through the techniques of outdoor painting while helping artists capture the beauty of the landscape through:
Light and colour
Composition and atmosphere
Perspective and depth
Outdoor painting techniques
Creative observation of nature
Each participant will complete one landscape painting per day while receiving individual instruction and support throughout the workshop. The day will conclude with a relaxed group session featuring appetizers and open discussion.
Meet the Instructor – Biljana Baker
Biljana Baker is a full-time watercolour artist based in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Her work is inspired by the softness and spontaneity of watercolours, combined with innovative mat carving techniques that add depth and dimension to her art.
Biljana has studied with prominent artists across Canada, the United States, and Europe. She has taught watercolour programs through:

Workshop Details
Dates: Thursday, June 18 & Friday, June 19
Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: Chippewa Park Pavilion & Grounds
Fee: $200 per person
The workshop fee includes instruction and afternoon snacks. Please note that fees are non-refundable.
What to Bring
Participants should bring:
Lunch and beverages
Lawn chair
Camera
Watercolour paints and brushes
Watercolour paper and sketchbook
Masking tape
Water container and paper towels
Hat, sunscreen, bug spray, and weather-appropriate clothing
Stiff painting boards will be provided.
