FedNor Support for Chippewa Park

Established in 1987, FedNor is the federal regional economic development organization that works with a variety of partners in rural and Northern Ontario to help create an environment in which communities can thrive, businesses can grow and people can prosper.

Through FedNor’s Northern Ontario Development Program, Community Futures Program, the Eastern Ontario Development Program, FedNor provides support and financial assistance to small and medium-sized businesses and various non-profit organizations in Northern and rural communities to help sustain employment and further stimulate community and economic development.
FedNor is currently supporting TFOCP by providing them with a Youth Intern. The Youth Internship—Not-for-Profit component encourages employers to provide young Northerners with their first education-related job experience which would ideally lead to permanent full-time employment with the host organization or another Northern Ontario employer. This initiative is designed to financially support the employment of recent graduates of post-secondary institutions (graduated within the last three years) for periods that will not exceed twelve months.
The Intern will be with TFOCP for one year, and will work with the Board of Directors, Parks, Tourism, Recreation & Culture Staff of the City of Thunder Bay Community Service Department to implement the first full year of the 5 year Marketing Plan.
